The Floating Lilypad City floats around the world (what world? good question!) as an independent and fully self-sustainable location. With a lake at the center to collect and purify rainwater, it is accessible by three separate marinas and airships that match the landing pod design. The Lilypad features mountains to offer the inhabitants a change of scenery from the seascape.
Lilypad integrates a wide variety of renewable energies including solar, thermal, photovoltaic, wind, hydraulic, tidal energies, and others. It recycles its own carbon dioxide and waste materials, includes the aforementioned water purification system, and utilizes aquaculture and other advanced farming techniques to grow enough food for all of its residents. The skin is made of polyester fiber covered by a layer of titanium dioxide (TiO2) which reacts to ultraviolet rays, enabling absorption of atmospheric pollution.
It’s an amphibious city without any cars—but you can take a small boat wherever you need to go through the canals. The whole city is covered by plants housed in suspended gardens.
Initially, PCs will be smart to stay by the shoreline: that's where buildings they know are stocked are, and where most of them arrive. But the entire city is available to explore, and it does have some natives remaining—there are no people, but there are definitely animals.
